After the Rain

It rained cats and dogs yesterday. Many paeony flowers are bent to the ground in spite of staking. Some snapped under the weight. But, the rain was much needed and I am actually grateful for it.
Planted last autumn, peony 'Monsieur Jules Elie' produced the very first flower. It is medium sized bush, with old rose pink petals.

Mowing the lawn is in order again as well as weeding the flower beds. I try not to neglect them and then,  weeding goes on rather quickly. My potatoes in the bag have grown rather tall in a few days. Maybe they were waiting for this rain too. Nothing can water the plants like natural rain. The whole garden came alive seeming more green and luxuriant.

Potatoes need another 20 cm of soil.
