The Heralds of Spring

The snow is no more but, the mornings are cold and frosty. The ground is too cold and wet for any work and I am going to sow my broad beans indoors in the pots.
I have sorted out all the seed sachets I got. I don't rush to sow the seeds indoors because the days are still short and the seedlings need lots of light. The lack of light makes them be etiolated, that is, long and weak.

I have prepared these paper pots for sowing the tomato seeds. I will do it at the end of March. By May, when the frost is no more, they will be big enough to be planted out.
The heralds of Spring are all over the garden, and the weather is getting warmer.

I have noticed snowdrops growing everywhere, even in the lawn. Obviously, they self-seed well.
There is one thing that doesn't make me very happy. The weatherman said that it is going to be a very rainy Spring. I only hope it won't be like the last one.

  1. I love that word "etiolated". It sounds a lot nicer than it really is!
